A Call to Action - Boycott the Special Levy and Vote out the PHOA Board

Pecanwood Corruption Watch has received several messages of disgust from homeowners expressing their concern that 2 weeks after the 2 projects were voted against by the homeowners, the PHOA and Board have still not communicated a revised Levy amount resulting from this decision.

One can only assume the following:

  1. The PHOA and Board continues to operate as an independent entity, totally disregarding the mandate of the Homeowners. They have long forgotten that the execution of the decisions by homeowners are the only reason for their existence.

  2. They have already made up their minds about charging a special levy just because they believe they can, regardless of the decision by the voting majority of Homeowners.

  3. The devious intent from the PHOA and Board in hosting the Town Hall Meeting of the 2nd of June and the SGM of the 30 July were just ‘smokescreen’ consultations. This was done hoping to secure support for a decision that was already taken to charge a special levy, in addition to the already recent increase of more than 8%. Now that the voting did not go as they had hoped for, they are scrambling to justify the special levy that they have already invoiced for, and may even have been paid by a few unsuspecting homeowners.

  4. The special levies will now go towards funding untoward expenditure against the wishes and approval of the Homeowners - and probably only favoring the vested interests of some of the members of the PHOA Board & management.

Homeowners are urged to STAND UNITED in putting an end to the illegal and narcissistic behavior displayed by the PHOA Board & management. We can do this by:

  1. refusing to pay the recently introduced Special Levy and inform the HOA that it is unwarranted and unlawful for them to demand this. (Remember how the saga of the Gauteng e-Tolls was resolved due to united action by residents)

  2. Introduce a special resolution at a special general meeting to replace the entire board and to put in place a board representative of all residents and who will manage Pecanwood Estate ethically (any resident can call a special general meeting).

  3. Pecanwood Corruption Watch has been informed by multiple residents of their intent to bring a class action legal suit against the PHOA and Directors. Please join one of these class action suites as we try and save this beautiful residential estate from facing the same fate that has been thrust upon our beautiful country, by its leaders, over the last few years.
