Open Letter Response to Pecanwood Homeowners Association "Key Topics" communication of 07 September 2022

Dear Pecanwood Residents

We are glad to be the inspiration behind the Pecanwood Homeowners Association (PHOA) choosing to now regularly communicate to Homeowners on topics of concern - something that they should have been doing proactively anyway, and truthfully.

It is also interesting that after many months of Pecanwood Corruption Watch being in existence, they are only now starting to communicate with Homeowners as a "tit for tat" strategy according to them. One wonders if it is not because we are getting close to Board election time again. Last year saw the escalation of the "Facts or Fiction" articles released by the PHOA Board as a run up to the elections, which immediately stopped after the election of their other favourites onto the Board.

It is also amusing to see the Pecanwood Management and Board resort to such devious polarising propaganda by using words like "small group of vocal residents that are not happy with the current direction". This antagonistic tone smacks of dictatorial institutions who do not value challenges and questioning by the very people that it is meant to be serving in the best interest of.

The article is anyway totally condescending and political in nature. We look forward to seeing the PHOA respond with facts and figures to the challenges that have been raised by Pecanwood Corruption Watch, and individual Homeowners in the recent past.

The PHOA Board and Management are fully aware that making deliberate false statements publicly exposes them to various forms of incrimination. We challenge the PHOA Management and Board to provide all substantiating documents to prove their assertions and gain some credibility...but we are not holding our breath.

Whilst we acknowledge the fact that Directors are not currently compensated for being on the Board, it is a decision that they have made themselves by accepting their nomination without duress and apparently completely cognizant of the relevant clause in the MOI and sections of the Companies Act 2008 which prohibits the employment for renumeration of directors in non profit companies. Not being compensated does not give the Board carte blanche to ignore the necessary legal, procedural and social obligations with which they are expected to serve the community.

We again wish to remind the PHOA Board and Management that the only reason they exist in these roles is because of the Homeowners - nothing more and nothing less!!
