Turning to mainstream media for assistance....

Further to our previous communications, we are pleased to inform you that the Mainstream Media is actively engaged in investigating and doing an expose’ on the situation at Pecanwood Estate. Several residents have informed us of the HOA and Board’s arrogant and dismissive response to their request for information.

Furthermore, cases have been lost at CSOS (Community Schemes Ombuds Service) not due to the merits of the case, but due to technicalities. On analyzing these cases and the responses, it smacks of the same syndicate and possible unsavory relationships that exist in an old boys club between individuals at HOA’s, CSOS, Residential Community Council (RCC), and Association of Residential Communities (ARC).

It is important to stress that the PW Community Association Manager has been instrumental in founding one of these organizations and is still involved in this close Network. One would have noticed that shortly after him joining Pecanwood Estate last year, the logos and inscriptions of these organizations started to be quite visible e.g. in the mail auto signatures.

Due to this ecosystem, it is likely that valid cases submitted at CSOS will continue to be dismissed.

It is this very link and modus operandi, that smacks of so many other detrimental consequences in our Country, that will be investigated by the same investigative journalists that were responsible for exposing similar schemes in our country.

It is sad that due to the arrogant, and dismissive nature of most of the HOA & Board, Residents have had to resort to the Media to try and rid our beautiful Estate of such alleged corruption. Unfortunately the HOA, especially some members of the Board, work on the premise that firstly they have CSOS in their pocket. Sewn up. The next line of recourse is the High Court and they are convinced that residents will not use their own finances to challenge them in the High Court whilst the HOA has access to the Residents' money to fight in court indefinitely. In fact one of the ex- directors who was one of the masterminds of the mess in the Estate, and who himself is believed to be an attorney, has openly gone on record inviting opponents to challenge the HOA in court and he will keep them there forever until the opponents are bankrupt.

It is this very thinking that the some members of the HOA and Board operate under which causes them to make decisions ‘just because they can’ even though they are fully aware that this could be deemed delinquent.

The media play a huge role in exposing corruption. We are hoping that the same will happen in Pecanwood quite soon.
